About Linda Schnapp, L.C.S.W.
Linda has been a psychotherapist in private practice for over thirty years. She incorporates many therapeutic approaches in her work with individuals, couples, families – focusing on building meaningful connections with the self and with others. Linda has been trained as an Imago Workshop Presenter for both couples and individuals. Both in her office & in her workshops, she provides a safe environment for clients to feel heard, valued and understood. Linda also brings her knowledge of psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavior therapy, emotionally focused psychotherapy and the work of John Gottman to help her clients achieve greater satisfaction and connection in their lives.
Linda’s passion for her work is evidenced by her continual involvement in new learning and professional development. She shares her latest learning from conferences and training with her clients, building a special connection as both client and therapist continue to grow together. In fact, many of Linda’s clients have had her support during various phases of their lives. There is nothing more important than having someone in your life to support you during life’s inevitable challenges, and to share in your greatest joys.
Guiding and supporting individuals through periods of anxiety, depression, grief, stress, and more. Helping adolescents navigate through the trials and tribulations of this unique and often difficult stage of life and teaching specific skills to cope with and manage emotions more effectively. Helping both single parents and couples navigate the joys and challenges of parenting.
Linda helps couples restore safety and trust in their relationship. She helps them understand each other and their struggles in a new way. Then she gives them the tools necessary to communicate effectively so they can feel more connected and fulfilled in their relationship. When trust and safety is restored in this way, healing can occur and relationships are able to thrive.
Couples and individual workshops the Imago Way. Using the “Imago Dialogue” couples and individuals can move from blame and reactivity, to understanding and empathy, so they can create a deeper and loving connection with each other as well as with themselves. With this approach, one’s committed relationship becomes a safe place to heal, learn and grow.
For over a decade, Linda Schnapp, L.C.S.W. and her daughter, Marisa Schnapp, Psy.D. have been co-leading Imago Therapy Workshops to help couples and individuals bring a new level of consciousness to their relationships.
What is Imago Therapy?
Imago Therapy is a form of relationship therapy first developed by Dr. Harville Hendrix, internationally acclaimed best-selling author of several books including Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples. Imago Therapy helps couples move beyond their conflicts and re-connect using a new way of talking together, called the Imago Dialogue. The Imago Dialogue helps couples to move from blame and reactivity, to understanding and empathy, so they can create a deeper and more loving connection with each other.
